7 Guaranteed Ways to Increase you AdSense Revenue

#7 Use Bigger sizes. Bigger ads = Bigger dollars. Who cares if they completely take over your site. (OK maybe your readers do.)
#6 Ad MORE units. This one is a no brainier, but the more ads you have on a page, the more ad revenue you will make. Sure, there is a law of diminishing returns, but that will only affect each ad unit, not the overall revenue.
#5 Click on your own ads. Yes, this one is against the TOS and will get you banned from AdSense, but in the short term you will generate $$$. Google publicly frowns on this of course, just like affiliate companies frown on cookie stuffing but really they are laughing all the way to the bank. ***NOT RECOMMENDED, JUST A JOKE RELAX! So the real #5 is Change your Colors. This one is easy to do and will help your $, but most people are just too lazy and use the default colors. (me too:)
#4 Jam the Ads in key spots. Sure you should have content at the top of the post, but the bloggers who jam AdSense units right at the top of the post make more money than you do…
#3 Stuff keywords everywhere. It is the spam blogs that generate the bulk of Google’s long tail revenue, you know the sites, they contain virtually no real information, just a bunch of nonsensical keywords related to what you are really looking for. Do a search on Google for ‘make money online’ and take a look at some of those results. Have a look at this site in the top 10… Make Money Online Everything above the fold is an advertising link in some way, and has the words ‘make money’ in almost every sentence on the page. Also try the ‘Make money at home’ and click on the 2nd result… MMAH. Can you stuff anymore keywords on that page!!
#2 Be nice to Google. Bitch slapping them like I do, does NOT help your revenue in any way, trust me…
#1 Write crappier content. There is a direct inverse relationship to your effective CPM on AdSense and how good your content is. If users really love what you write, they tend not to click away to something else. If you write really low quality stuff, the readers who are looking for something useful will click on your AdSense away to something that they were actually looking for…

While I tend to agree with you here, and I like your attitude a lot… I do have a few quibbles. First, the “bigger units” rule does not always apply. I’ve found that 300×250 monetizes better than the 336 x 280. I think it has to do with the fact that there are more people competing for that unit.

Nice post but AdSense publishers have to brace themselves for the worst now. Google is in some kind of financial problems and AdWords advertisers are no longer paying big money for their ads. Put those together and you can see that all is not well for AdSense publishers.

hah, that MMAH site is the funniest thing I’ve seen in a while. The sad thing is that the owner of that site probably makes great money with it. While completely burying a site that probably has useful information on it.

I like your comment about writing a crap content. It sounds funny, but you are right that if reader is occupied with the article, it is less likely for him to click to the banner.

Amazing isn’t it. And I don’t agree with Home Biss and his comment about google being in Financial Trouble. That right there, is where financial trouble starts. Google is flourishing! We are talking about a multi-billion dollar market here.
By the way Chad, what do you make with adsense, ballpark figure?

I agree, I wouldn’t exactly say Google is in finacial trouble, but the stock has certainly taken a hit.
As for Adsense, they buy my daily coffee, but keep the change!
(I actually just started using it again with this theme as it had built in units below the post which I liked)

Your #5 (the real one) could use some more explaining. Do you mean just change the colors from the default to anything else – or change the colors to blend more with your site?
Also @Home Biss – I’d love to know where you found or heard this about AdWords publishers paying less?

I like the idea of creating a website with lots of keyword (but meaningful still), it is still possible to have a website with lots of keywords and highly optimized and still be a website not made for ‘adsense’ purposes, AKA “Search Engine Optimization”.
Question: What do you think about the idea of purchasing millions of ‘guaranteed visitors’ for a website with adsense?

Keyword Stuffing will work, but until a certain extent. I am afraid that if you over exaggerate that you will be penalized.

Keyword stuffing is not always the best way to go. I think changing the colors makes a huge difference in some adsense Web sites. Just by doing a split test, you can find out what works and what doesn’t

I would like to inform every one that Google terminated my adsense account with no notice (or any warnings what so ever). I was only hosting religious materials on my website, nothing about porn or anything severe.
Who is Google to dictate what content I get to host of my website, if they dont like religious materials then screw them! As of my revenue, I am applying a new way of generating income without any contextual ads and I am making slightly more this way.
